What you need to know about Maryland State Inspection
Maryland requires that all used vehicles or vehicles
coming in from another state be inspected by an authorized
Maryland state inspection facility. If you purchase a
used vehicle from a licensed
Maryland dealer it is their responsibility to have the
vehicle
Maryland state
inspected before it is sold. If however you purchase from an out-of-state dealer
or a private party and need a MD. Inspection we are authorized by the Maryland
State Police to perform an inspection on your vehicle, make repairs if necessary
and issue your certificate of compliance. We know that even though a Maryland
State Safety Inspection is required it also makes good sense for your
peace-of-mind as well as that of other drivers that share the roadways.

standards: Brakes, tires, steering, suspension, exhaust, lighting, electrical
system, glass, body, seat belts, presence of emissions components.
How long will
it take?

My vehicle
just passed inspection in another state do I still need a
Maryland state inspection?
Yes. Every state has different safety standards and some
states may check more items than others. Just because a vehicle passes in
another state, does not mean it will pass in
Maryland. In general most vehicles that have been well
maintained can easily meet state safety standards.
My vehicle
did not pass what do I do now?
You have several options: You will have 30 days or 1,000
miles to complete the repairs, if you complete the repairs in the specified time
frame you will be issued a certificate of compliance. If you do not complete the
repairs in the specified time frame you will need to have a new inspection
performed.
Where can I
get my car fixed?
We can provide you with a written estimate and perform any
necessary repairs. You may also perform the repairs yourself or use the shop of
your choice and return the vehicle to us for re-inspection. You should be aware
however that if the repairs are done elsewhere, you must schedule an appointment
for re-inspection and any items that require a lift or wheel removal will be
subject to a re-inspection fee as required by the state.
We
take your safety seriously - so should you!
